hMF CAB Filter module cabinet

The PQE hMF hybrid modular active filter is a ready-to-connect solution for compensation of mains perturbations in commercial and industrial grids. It is modularly constructed from individual filter modules and can be easily expanded if the performance is increased or requirements change.

As with all common active filters on the market, the filter control operates current-controlled. Depending on the control principle, current transformers must be installed either in the supply of the distribution (closed loop) or in the output of the load to be compensated (open loop). As a special feature, the PQE hMF can also operate voltage-controlled on its own. When operating with “Voltage Control”, no current transformers need to be installed.

For each task, active and passive filter modules can be combined with the hybrid filter system.

AHM Active hybrid filter module

The active hybrid filter module AHM is constructed in loss-reduced silicon carbide technology and has 50 % less losses compared to conventional active filters. In addition, it enables local energy recycling of harmonics using a patented process. The voltage-controlled filter module can be used to reduce mains perturbations both selectively and over a broad band. The modular design allows the filter to be expanded quickly and simplifies service. All connections are provided at the bottom of the cabinet. The operation is carried out via a web server.

Application areas of the AHM with a compensation current of 120 A:

  • Discrete compensation of the 5th/7th/11th/13th. Harmonic
  • Broadband reduction of interharmonics
  • Damping of resonance points
  • Reduction of higher frequency disturbances
  • Dynamic reactive power compensation (QII/2023)

ABM Active broadband filter module

The unique driving band filter module with true voltage regulation. Response times in the microsecond range allow optimal compensation results even with highly dynamic disturbance variables. By means of a power electronic simulation of ohmic-inductive or ohmic-capacitive loads, the filter is able to selectively change the grid impedance. This provides an elegant way of damping grid resonances. The increasing problem with supraharmonics (harmonics > 2.5 kHz) can be solved effectively.

UBM Universal Broadband Module PQE

Grid disturbancies in the frequency range above 2 kHz, such as interference from inverter clock frequencies, commutation dips, or high-frequency signal levels, is an increasing and serious problem. These feedback effects are often amplified by resonance effects.

The universal broadband filter module is a cost-effective solution for reducing interference up to 20 kHz. Due to its design, it fits seamlessly as a filter module into our hybrid modular filter series hMF. Wall mounting is also possible for single applications.

The PQE UBM filters interference between the phases and phase against N/PE. This means that both common-mode and push-pull interference can be eliminated with one filter module.
